It was here Chard Farm came to life as a vineyard…
Forged from ancient glacial schist, this elevated sanctuary perches at the confluence of the Kawarau and Shotover Rivers. It was here the historic Chard Farm came to life as a vineyard, a narrative spun from community spirit, reverence and of course, delicious cool climate wines.

In the year 1987, we plunged our hands into the earth, firmly planting our roots. As early pioneers, we embarked on a journey to explore the possibilities of grape cultivation in Central Otago, armed with little prior knowledge about which grape varieties would truly thrive.

Thank God for Pinot Noir.
