Pinot Gris 2011
Winemakers comments: Our Pinot Gris is made from fruit grown in 2 separate estate owned vineyards in the Parkburn area of Cromwell. A cool spell of weather just after flowering naturally reduced the size of the crop; and thereafter the summer returned and we harvested some of the best white grapes we have seen for a long time. All the grapes are hand harvested and fermented in small lots in stainless steel tanks helping to retain fruit purity and finesse. The wine is textural, and displays excellent fruit structure, intensity and mineral length.
Wine description: The aroma is a heady perfume of pears, wild flowers with fine spicy/nutty notes. The wine is supple, weighty and full in the mouth, it oozes fruit texture and concentration. The long mineral finish nicely balances this beautiful wine.
