Chard Farm was the setting for the start of this years Womens Spring Challenge. Around 1,000 competitors from all over NZ started the race in their wetsuits and helmets, heading upstream for the first rafting leg of their adventure race on the Kawarau River. They set off in waves of 300, with the first group leaving at 6 am! They did running, mountain biking, rafting, orienteering and everything in between before finishing at Mt Rosa winery. By all accounts it was a great adventure and one of the best Spring Challenges ever.
