2012 MK II single vineyard pinot noir release

14 November 2013

This is the first ever release of this special single vineyard pinot noir.

The 2012 MKII comes from the beautiful Mark II vineyard in the Parkburn region of Cromwell.  It's owned by our consultant viticulturist Michelle Crawford and her partner Mark Mason.  We have been receiving fruit off this vineyard for the past few years and are very excited about the potential of this lovely bit of land.

Romance is in the Air

13 November 2013

Down on your knee at the Cellar Door!

This must be the year for romance at Chard Farm – we’ve had a number of nervous young men visit us in the last few months with their partners. In each case they’ve proposed with the help of some  ‘Dutch Courage’ in the cellar door.

Hui proposed to Christine in April.

In June, Matt and Samy from Australia visited us.  Matt chose to propose outside during a Blizzard - Brrrrrr

Final Trolly Derby

chard racing barrel wins

5 November 2013

The famous Chard Farm racing barrel was a category winner in the Arrowtown Trolley Derby held in the weekend.  Jo Bartlett was the pilot (nervous one at that!) and drove brilliantly to edge out the Sponsors cart in the final.  The barrel was last raced in 2009 and was resurrected by a team at the local pre-school.  The little ones thought that teacher Jo and her cart were pretty cool.
